Bryan Burklin
Local Government Audit
Bryan Burklin, CPA, CGFM is an Assistant Director in the Tennessee Comptroller’s division of Local Government Audit. Bryan is responsible for the review, approval, and distribution of the financial and compliance audits of the 91 counties that are performed by Comptroller staff.
Bryan has been with the Comptroller’s Office since 1980. He moved to Nashville in 2015 after spending the first part of his state service in Knoxville. Bryan has spent his entire career assisting, advising, and auditing county governments in Tennessee.
Bryan is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Government Financial Manager. He is a member of AGA (née Association of Government Accountants) and a 2016 graduate of the Tennessee Government Executive Institute. In 2022, he received the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office highest honor – the Make Government Work Better Award.
A lifelong Tennessean, Bryan was born in Fayetteville and raised in Winchester.
Bryan is the father of four – one son and three daughters. He is also a proud grandfather of two beautiful granddaughters. In his spare time, he enjoys cheering on the Tennessee Vols and the Atlanta Braves.
