About Us

The Office of the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury has one mission: to make government work better.

The Comptroller’s Office is responsible for the audit of state and local governmental entities and participates in the general financial and administrative management and oversight of Tennessee state government. The Office is led by Comptroller Justin P. Wilson, a constitutional officer who is elected by the Tennessee General Assembly.

The office is led by Tennessee's 34th Comptroller, Justin P. Wilson, who is currently serving his fifth term.

The Comptroller’s Office is comprised of 11 divisions. In addition to our main office in Nashville, we have five field office locations across the state. The Comptroller of the Treasury, or a designee, serves as a member of over 35 state government committees, boards, and commissions, and staffs the State Funding Board, Utility Management Review Board, and Water and Wastewater Financing Board.
