Christy N. Tennant, CPA, CGFM, CFE is the Deputy Director of the Tennessee Comptroller’s Division of Investigations. Christy is responsible for overseeing and directing investigations involving fraud, waste, and abuse in local governments, state agencies, and other publicly funded entities.

Christy began her career with the Comptroller’s Office in 1999 with the Division of Local Government Audit and has spent the majority of her state service with the Division of Investigations. She was named Deputy Director of Investigations in 2022. In her role, she also works closely with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Federal Bureau of Investigation, local District Attorneys General, and local law enforcement groups.

Christy received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Tennessee Technological University (TTU). She also has a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems from TTU. Christy is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Financial Manager, and a Certified Fraud Examiner.  Additionally, she is a 2020 graduate of the Tennessee Government Executive Institute.

A lifelong resident of Putnam County, Christy and her husband have one daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities including playing golf, gardening, and camping.
