The Contract Audit Review Specialist reviews audit reports submitted by contracted CPA firms and provides technical assistance to citizens, auditors, and entity officials. This position sits within the Division of Local Government Audit’s Contract Audit Review Unit. This unit ensures that municipalities, public internal school funds, certain quasi-governmental entities, utility districts, housing authorities, charter schools, and certain nonprofit or for-profit organizations receiving funds from the State of Tennessee are audited as required by state statutes.

This position will be responsible for conducting audits in the Middle region of Tennessee. Legislative Auditors are responsible for external audit work in accordance with professional auditing standards. Responsibilities may include examining and reviewing records, reports, financial statements, and management practices for state and local government entities and other organizations receiving public funds.
